Professor Patricia A. Frazier identifies factors associated with the adjustments made for stressful and traumatic life events. In particular, she is developing a measure to asses a person's perceived control over stressful life events and studies the role such control plays in recovery. She also focuses on ways traumatic events can lead to positive changes in people's lives. To assess these changes, Frazier conducts a multisite prospective study of the effects of traumatic life events. The purpose is to identify and assess individuals before and after the experience. Frazier is finding the good in times of bad-and that sounds pretty great.
